Are you a passionate dance, acro, or aerial instructor looking for a new opportunity? Bend Academy is seeking instructors to join our team! As an instructor you will be responsible for developing and teaching students of all ages and levels, children and adults, beginners to advanced. You will help students improve their technique, coordination, and performance skills while fostering a love of movement.
At Bend Academy we pride ourselves on offering quality programs in a fun, inclusive, and friendly environment. We aim to keep a balance of classes being fun and age appropriate while also prioritizing proper technique. Our instructors need to share our vision and be passionate, knowledgeable, organized, friendly, enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable. We’re seeking instructors for our summer programs throughout July & August as well as the dance season starting in September. All positions are part-time.
As an instructor your responsibilities would include:
- Creating lesson plans and curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Conducting classes independently
- Providing constructive feedback and encouragement to students
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching methods accordingly
- Collaborating with other instructors and staff to developing performances and events
- Participating in putting on performances and events as needed
- Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for all students
Requirements
- Experience in dance, acro, or aerial silks, or aerial hoop
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a dance studio or similar environment
- Must love working with kids
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and levels
- Demonstrate professionalism while also being warm, welcoming, and friendly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Hard working, responsible, and reliable
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and respect
- Always early for class and highly organized
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
- Complete a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
- First aid & CPR certification
- For dance instructors:
- We’re seeking individuals with proficiency in multiple dance styles including ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, tap, preschool dance, creative movement, and parent & tot classes.
- For acro instructors:
- We’re seeking individuals with a deep understanding of acro, past teaching experience, and who are Acrobatic Arts certified or willing to become certified. Acro teachers must be able to teach in a safe and progressive manner.
- For aerial instructors:
- We’re seeking individuals with aerial hoop or aerial silks experience who are Aerial Arts certified, willing to become certified, or have an equivalent mix of education and experience in teaching aerial classes.
